Channels greyed out when using supernodes

I've created a unicast zone to connect to an upstream multicast zone. When I log on to the unicast zone with Desktop Communicator the channels appear greyed out (ie not connected). I've configured the supernoding as per TP guide. I've done some debugging but won't post them just yet in case any one has some immediate thoughts??

The client needs to make a TCP connection to port 25021 on the media server. Try telnetting to the media server on port 25021 and see if you get a blank screen. If you do not then there may be a firewall or something else blocking you. If you are using NAT there is some additional configuration required. Take a look at the knowledgebase article "NAT and Port Forwarding Regarding Supernode".
