I have a desktop communicator that the channels will not go green. I have seven media servers that are all in unicast supernoding zones connected up to the root multicast zone. I tried to connect the desktop communicator to all of the diffrent zoned media servers and none of them work on network A. I can plug this laptop into network B and everything lights up green and works fine. I also have a media server on network A and can connect to it from network B to to get radio traffic from network B by selecting network A zone when loging in.( a full media loop back through networks right??) The diffrence from network A and B are : A has a firewall and an idirect modem for TCP teardown and compression. Have you done testing with idirect 1000 modems and what ports need to be opened through a PIX firewall for WAVE desktop and media server to work?

thanks

Nick,

I have never touched an idirect 1000 modem... I can tell you the ports and protocols you need to allow through your firewall though (and they're configurable in the Mgmt server).

TCP port 25021 (Supernode routing packets)
UDP port 25022 (If this is open then it will switch from TCP to UDP and be more efficient for Supernode routing)
HTTP port 80
TCP port 31025 (this is for the Media server to get a connection from a Mgmt server and notify it of it's changed configuration)

Hope this helps.
