What's the difference in terms of WAVE Dispatch Communicator functionality when registering it as a Basic versus an Advanced Third Party SIP Device on Cisco Call Manager?

First off Alvin I apologize for the delay in response.
There functionality is no difference to WAVE Dispatcher Communicator using a Basic vs. a Advanced SIP Profile on Cisco Callmanager 5+.
I have noticed how you configure CCM does matter in using the profile itself.
For SIP Basic 3rd Party SIP Device, you can keep Digest Auth turned off and use extensions for SIP credential authentication and not have to create a security profile.
For SIP Advanced 3rd Party SIP Device, you are required to enable Digest Authentication and create Digest Authentication Security Profiles. You must enable 'use username for authentication' in the Registrar on the Management Server and create matching usernames in CCM.
This is detailed in the SIP Installation Guide and let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
Again, I apologize for the delay. I will be doing test posting today to make sure I'm still getting my email notifications.
