Hi,

I was able to install WAVE and have a standard multicast channel call just fine. I am now trying to set up a channel using multicast. The Admin guide says that to enable Remote Channel Access for a channel we need a Channel Access Session, which implies we would need a Media Server, no?

Is there any way to configure a system (Desktop Communicators and Management Server only) to use unicast without installing a Media Server?

Thanks,
Jessica (CoCo)

Hi Jessica,

Unfortunately No. In order for the Desktop client to listen to Unicast with WAVE 2.0 it must be connected to a media server through an RCA session. You have to have a media server in the network.

Thanks,
Bryan

Keep in mind the Media Server can be installed on the same machine as the WAVE Management Server, so you don't actually need another machine.
